The Wishing Spell - The Land of Stories Series - Chris Colfer

The wishing spell is about two twins named Alex and Connor Bailey.  There grandmother gives them a book entitled "The Land of Stories" for their birthday. Alex loves fairy tales and wishes that she can live in a world full of fairytales and Connor is the complete opposite. Alex keeps the book in her room, and one night it starts glowing and the birds start singing but they are not from outside, they come from the book. Alex asks Connor for new pencils but Connor wonders why.  One day Alex carries the book in her bag to school and it starts glowing in class more than ever.  As soon as she got home she opened the book and went inside, Connor rushed into her room but it was too late...

    this sounds a lot like Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Have you thought about reading that? Please also change your font to white. The gray on black makes it hard to read.

      I haven't thought about reading Alice's Adventure in Wonderland but in the fourth book that recently came out it is a mixture of Alice in the Wonderland, Peter Pan and Robin Hood. Once I finish the third book I will continue on to the fourth book.

      I haven't read the fourth book because I haven't finished the third book yet.

    Why was the book glowing? Is this similar to the Chronicles of Narnia?

    The book was glowing because it was actually a portal to the fairytale world.
